- Description
This free parent & child workshop is designed to help parents understand how to support their child’s early writing development in a fun, pressure-free way.
At this age, writing isn’t about letters — it’s about building the foundational skills children need to feel confident and capable later on. In this session, children will explore playful, hands-on activities while parents learn why these skills matter and how to support them at home.
What we’ll focus on:
Fine motor strength and hand development
Mark-making (lines, circles, early shapes)
Correct but relaxed tool use
Sensory and everyday play that supports writing readiness
What’s developmentally appropriate for ages 2.5–4
For parents, you’ll learn:
How to help without pressure
Simple activities using items you already have at home
What to encourage — and what not to worry about
How to build confidence and enjoyment around early writing
👩👧 Parents stay and take part alongside their child
🎨 Play-based, child-led activities
⏰ Session length: 40 minutesThis workshop is ideal for toddlers and young preschoolers. It does not focus on letter formation or formal writing, making it perfect for children who are just beginning their early writing journey.
